Es ergibt sich unter anderem auch die Frage hinsichtlich des aktuellen Bedeutungsgehaltes, der gesellschaftlich einer als klassisch verstandenen Partnerschaft zugeschrieben wird, des Weiteren ob es sich für die Mitglieder, die sich in einer bestimmten Lebensphase befinden, überhaupt eine Partnerschaft aufzubauen lohnt, beziehungsweise auch, ob es nicht als zu großes Risiko verstanden werden kann, sich einer individual vollkommen hinzugeben, wenn sich der Einzelne nie sicher sein kann, ob eine feste Beziehung von Dauer ist. Es scheint sich in der gegenwärtigen Gesellschaft ein Prozess heraus zu kristallisieren, dass gerade auch deshalb der unmarried als solcher immer mehr Aufmerksamkeit erfährt. Im institutionalisierten Sinne lässt sich dies auch an dem Veranstaltungszuwachs und an den explizit für Singles in das Leben gerufene occasions verdeutlichen.
